Handpainted Box from Nepal, Tiger Motif, Footed : 12" x 9" x 7.25"

When visiting the great Stupa in Boudha in Kathmandu, Nepal I came a cross a shop that had beautifully painted handmade wooden boxes with the motif of tigers dancing and of laying flat out like the traditional tiget carpets of Tibet .  These precious boxes feature a technique where yeast is put into plaster for a raised line, colours are natural varnishes...Each one unique. Please indicate colour preference and I can send more detailed photos with the inquiry.  These precious boxes would make any decor very special.

This box is the size of a small chest with decorative wooden feet to raise it slightly

They come in Black or Blue, with an Auspicious Buddhist Symbol on top
